Responsibilities of IAIP Participants
Selected applicants, the FAS overseas
offices, the FAS Washington Office and CSREES are all participants and all have
responsibilities in the IAIP.
Responsibilities of
the Selected Applicants
- Providing accurate and timely information for a Special Agreement
Check (SAC) for clearance.
- Providing accurate and timely information for the contract.
- Travel cost and arrangements to the job site.
- Obtaining passports and visas.
- Obtaining medical insurance – required.
- Obtaining immunizations, if required.
- Coordinating affordable housing search with overseas office.
- Payment of taxes.
- Arranging for school credit, if applicable.
Responsibilities of the Overseas Office
- Assign job responsibilities.
- Supervision.
- Assist applicant in locating affordable housing.
Responsibilities of FAS Washington Offices
- Recruiting and ranking applicants and evaluating the program.
- Informing students whether or not they have made the final list.
- Informing overseas offices of the final list of selected
applicants.
- Informing final applicants whether or not they have been chosen by
our overseas offices.
- Providing forms to the applicants selected by an overseas office
to start the Special Agreement Check (SAC) check and the contract processes.
- Requesting and paying for a SAC.
- Awarding a personal services contract to intern, depending on SAC
approval.
- Timely and accurate payments to intern.
Responsibilities of CSREES
- Recruitment of students.
- Outreach to colleges and universities.
