Peru Lifts Import Restriction on California Citrus On September 26, 2003, Peru lifted import restrictions on citrus exports from California. Peru's action occurred after Peru’s National Agricultural Sanitary and Phytosanitary Service (SENASA) and the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) officials met in California during September to survey citrus production areas, shipping facilities, and phytosanitary inspection procedures. SENASA's visit was funded under the Technical Issues Resolutions Fund (TIRF) of the Emerging Markets Program.
