Association’s market development office in
Japan. Farmer leaders and staff of the U.S.
soybean industry marked half a century of
successful partnership, and helped lay the
groundwork for the future, with a series of
activities with Japanese oilseed industry and
government officials and FAS country staff. |

In calendar year
2005, by any yardstick the United States came
tops among Japan’s foreign suppliers of planting
seeds, ranking No. 1 by volume (16,351 metric
tons), value ($33.19 million), and market share
by value (26.2 percent).
